I had the pleasure of meeting Nikki in a professional capacity, as a colleague in a non-profit organization for which we both worked. I was immediately drawn to her open-hearted, honest and kind personality. There was a light that seemed to emanate from Nikki, and I noticed that others were drawn in by that light as well.
Fast forward a couple of years. Nikki has changed careers and is working on writing and speaking to groups, sharing her hard-won wisdom and lessons learned through both pain and joy. I’ve been following her blog and attended a presentation that she did at a statewide children’s mental health conference. I watched Nikki capture, and hold, the attention of a roomful of people as she told her story and shared some important lessons she has learned on her journey.
Her writing is as honest, open and transparent as she is in person. Following her blog takes you along on her journey. You share and celebrate the joy that she brings to her interactions with everyone. You feel the love that she has for herself and those around you. You find hope in her story of tragedies turned into triumph.
I look forward to following Nikki’s story for a long time to come…
